Angela has significant experience in a wide range of environmental and occupational health and safety management (EHS) challenges. This experience includes the full scope of management systems, regulatory compliance assurance from a management perspective and detailed technical compliance management at the operations level. Her leadership in quality management systems implementation provides key skills to facilitate integration of systems at the business or process level. Angela’s engineering and regulatory services experience began in 1988. Her technical background includes management systems design, process improvement, industrial permitting; hazardous and non-hazardous waste management; environmental, health and safety auditing; engineering design; and environmental remediation.
Prior to joining The DESARA Group, Angela provided turn-key support to obtain federal and state permits for nine hazardous waste facilities. Management of these permits included negotiation of both major and minor modifications to existing state and federal permits. She has interacted with local, state, and federal agencies throughout the United States negotiating permits and assisting customers with resolving consent decree orders associated with RCRA compliance matters. Angela has obtained water treatment, waste water treatment, and storm water discharge permits for municipal and industrial clients, including unusual and complex community relations.
Angela is a motivating trainer skilled at tailoring complex topics to the experience level of the audience. She has designed and implemented management systems that add business value and improve regulatory compliance assurance. She has also prepared many site-specific EHS plans including HAZCOM, Contingency Plans, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, and site specific Health and Safety Plans.
To further bolster regulatory compliance assurance, Angela has developed and implemented EHS audit programs for both management systems and regulatory compliance. She has successfully achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 registration for several clients.
Angela is skilled in on-site pilot scale testing, as well as environmental and industrial hygiene sampling. She has managed and participated in large and small scale remediation projects.
Angela has experience with industries ranging from automotive production to industrial waste management. Her experience with municipalities includes towns, cities, and counties.
She has participated in the design of major hazardous waste management units and facilities, water and sanitary waste water treatment plant designs, and secondary containment systems for chemicals and hazardous wastes design.
Angela is a registered Professional Engineer in Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Vermont and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). She is completing management certification in Occupational Safety. Angela earned a BS in Civil Engineering with an environmental emphasis from Purdue University.
