Some employees look forward to the chance to attend off-site training because they can make new contacts and see things from a different point of view while gaining skills needed back on the job. From the company’s perspective, on-site training can offer significant benefits though, including:

  • Cost savings up to 50% over the total cost of training and travel for all attendees: The fixed cost of bringing a consultant to your own conference room can be spread over many more trainees.
  • Simultaneously training a team can help them work together to achieve the course goals back on the job. Many action items are identified and roadblocks are challenged during on-site courses
  • Classroom examples can be tailored to your specific issues and work can begin under the guidance of the consultant
  • Just-in-time training: Those who only need certain parts of the overall course material may be able to step in and out of class, thus conserving resources
  • Knowledge transfer from internal experts: Process owners and technical resources who would not attend a full off-site course can transfer company-specific knowledge in special sections.
  • Maximize ROI on planned business travel: On-site training can be scheduled during the same week as other company events that require travel by remote workers.
  • Government grants may be available for on-site training, especially when it is done in conjunction with a targeted project. The DESARA Group can assist in filing for grants, which would lower the training costs even more.

Rod Bothwell, Executive Vice President of the DESARA GroupRod Bothwell, Executive Vice President of The DESARA Group asks, “Are you using your Quality organization to its full potential? If your quality team only prepares graphs and charts and keeps you out of trouble with the auditors, you’re leaving money on the table.”

Now’s the time to realign your quality organization with clearly defined strategic goals that directly impact the business. Read more about services of The DESARA Group.

Dave Sanicola, President of the DESARA GroupThe DESARA Group helps leaders through tough financial times by focusing on cost savings and effective execution.

You are expected to lead your business to financial success even in the current market. You can do this by leveraging the the strengths you have built in terms of quality.

As senior executives go through the careful examination of the 2009 budgets, they constantly think: “Higher Sales! Customer Loyalty ! No Delays, No Mistakes! Better Products, On Time, On Budget!”

“When attention shifts to Sales, Engineering, and Finance, don’t let your leadership team make the mistake of cutting the Six Sigma and Quality teams” says The DESARA Group President Dave Sanicola. Now is the time to reap the benefits of your ongoing investment in management systems, Six Sigma resources, and effective project management methods. Black Belt Projects have been proven to pay back. Your quality team should be fully utilized to create able, agile and affordable processes.

You should count on your Quality organization to:

  • Make the customers more satisfied – which leads to improved market share
  • Get new products out on time, with high quality – which leads to faster sales and less money wasted fixing problems
  • Create World-class Processes – which leads to shorter lead times, lower costs, and faster return on investment.

Are you getting your money’s worth from your Quality organization?

If not, The DESARA Group can help you use powerful resources to address many of management’s top concerns.

Joe Barckett, DESARA Group consultantCan you afford not having a Continual Improvement Process (CIP) in today’s economy? Effective CIP projects more than pay for themselves with high Returns on Investment (ROIs). The Six Sigma DMAIC process is the roadmap for savings. Projects using 6 sigma methodologies pay for themselves. This is the time to double up, and select high impact projects, assign Black Belt resources, and get started.

As a Senior Executive you’re always looking for ways to cut costs and save money. It’s especially important in today’s economic environment. One of the well established ways to improve your bottom line is through an effective Continual Improvement Process (CIP.) Over the last 12 years we have seen large savings, across industries, from focused CIP programs such as Six Sigma.

Whether it’s manufacturing, health, banking or the general service industry, Six Sigma has proven time and time again that, when properly implemented, its return on investment is quick and substantial. The following table shows representative results from a variety of industries.

Industry
Project “Hard Dollar” Savings
Aerospace $ 100k
Pharmaceutical >$ 1M
High Tech Manufacturing $ 1.4M
Service Industry $ 166k
Plastic Molding $ 182k

Of course proper implementation is the key to a successful CIP journey. Our experience shows that there are a few key issues that can make or break a CIP implementation.

The number one issue is senior management commitment. Unless you, as a senior manager, are truly committed to making improvement a daily activity in your organization, improvement will not happen as fast or be as beneficial as it should. All organizations follow the lead of their senior executives. If improvement is important to you, then it will be important to the organization. Commitment means that you are actively involved in the CIP journey. Six Sigma allows for this involvement through the various Tollgate reviews in the DMAIC process.

Master Black Belt Joe Barckett has helped scores of organizations achieve the type of results cited above, and he can help you initiate or revitalize your Continual Improvement Program so it can do what it’s intended to do – deliver bottom line savings! Given current economic conditions, organizations across all industries are being forced to downsize and are finding it extremely difficult to provide training to their employees. Expectations for increased revenue and business improvement are growing while resources are being cut across the board. How are organizations expected to meet this challenge? The DESARA Group can help.

We can help you apply for and receive government assistance for training your employees. The Work Force Investment Act provides for grant funded training of organizations and individual workers in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The funding is administered at the state level and provides tuition assistance from 50% to 100% depending upon the program and the specific situation of your organization and/or employees. This means that your organization may be able to deliver training services to employees, giving them the opportunity to hone their skills and personal development to be competitive, at no cost to your organization and no negative impact to your bottom line. The grants may also be used to provide training and assistance to employees who are being dislocated as a result of corporate downsizing.

Can you qualify for this assistance? Again, The DESARA Group can help.

  • We’ll help you see if you or your organization qualify
  • We’ll assist you throughout the application process
  • As a qualified and registered training company, we will provide the high-quality training services that your organization and employees really need to stay competitive in these difficult economic times.
